The Reading Association works closely with its Dutch sister institution, and the Dutch Language Union (Nederlandse Taalunie). In addition, the Reading Association is a founder member of the European platform EU*Read. Together with Dutch, German, Italian, Swiss, and British colleagues, we exchange ideas concerning the policy to promote reading, research, and specific projects. Likewise for French and Southern European colleagues, the Reading Association is often the point of contact regarding initiatives to promote reading.
The Reading Association takes part in international congresses and fairs and deploys these international contacts to organise colloquia and exhibitions.
The Centre for Children’s Literature is part of an international network of specialists in children’s literature. It is also an active member of the IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People), the most important international children’s literature organisation.
