Centre for Children’s Literature

The Centre for Children’s Literature is the centre of expertise in children’s literature. Its work constitutes a special assignment of the Reading Association. Its central feature is a specialist library with a unique collection of children’s books and a collection of subject literature on children’s literature, the promotion of reading, and library work in different languages and
viewed through the eyes of a multitude of disciplines. The library is accessible for students in higher education, teachers, librarians, and specialists from the education and cultural sectors.

The Centre for Children’s Literature aims at stimulating the study of children‘s literature. In order to do this, it uses the library, electronic sources of information, the expertise of its staff, and a broad network of specialists. It is our aim to foster expertise amongst students, teachers, librarians, and other interested parties. We try to achieve this by means of personal support, national and international trainings and conferences, and participation in IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) activities.
