Reading Aloud Week
Reading aloud is the start of a lifelong enjoyment of books. Each year, in the last week of November, the Reading Association focuses attention on a wide range of attractive books for reading aloud. The campaign focuses on children of nursery and pre-school age, but, of course, the joy of being read to does not end when children can read for themselves.
Two years ago, well known radio show hosts have been to children’s hospitals to read aloud. Last year, we concentrated mainly on children whose mother tongue is not Dutch.
