Book Babies
Inspired by the British campaign Bookstart, the Reading Association is encouraging young parents to share an interest in books with their children. The Book Babies project is up and running in 10 towns. The public libraries are our primary partners for this project. Young families are given a package of books, library information, and book vouchers on
three occasions during the first three years of their child’s life.
Research groups from the universities of Ghent and Antwerp are monitoring the progress of the project and interviewing parents. Once the research phase is complete, we hope to implement the project nationwide in 2009.
